54 / 131 page  Command Packet A command packet is defined as a sequence of UART characters originating at the host. Each packet starts with a preamble character, followed by data characters, and ending with a stop character (see Figure 31). After send- ing a packet, the host either goes into idle mode or sends another packet. Preamble Character The preamble is a framing character that signals the beginning of a command packet. It is transmitted as an unencoded 15h with a logic-one parity bit and a balanced duty cycle. If any bit(s) other than the stop bits deviate from the unique preamble sequence, the character is not interpreted as a valid preamble, but rather as a data character. Figure 31.
