21 / 150 page  Intelligent Eight-Channel Communications Controller — CD1865 Datasheet 21 Modem I/O signals are implemented as ‘conventional’ input-output circuits, readable, and writable by either the on-device or the host CPU. This allows maximum flexibility in using these signals either in the conventional way, or for any other I/O function required. When the CD1865 processor is using these pins to implement flow-control functions, it reads them under software control and implements the function that way. There is no direct hardware association between the modem pins and the serial I/O hardware. |
