Description of Change:

Silicon Labs announces an End of Life (EOL) and Last Time Buy (LTB) for EM2420-RT

product.

All orders, including Last Time Buy orders, for the EM2420-RT must be placed by the Last

Order Date (23 September 2014) and must have a customer requested delivery date prior

to the PCN effective date (23 March 2015). Any orders with a customer requested

delivery date between the Last Order Date, (23 September 2014) and the PCN Effective

Date (23 March 2015) will be non-cancellable and non-returnable.

Orders with a customer requested delivery date beyond the PCN Effective Date of 23

March 2015 will not be accepted.

Silicon Labs recommends the EM351 or EM357 for ZigBee replacement parts. The

recommended replacements are easier to design-in, offer lower BOM cost, lower power

consumption and provide better performance. The EM351 and EM357 are not pin to pin

compatible to the End of Life device, EM2420-RT. The recommended datasheets are

available from www.silabs.com.

Reason for Change: End of Life

Impact on Form, Fit, Function, Quality, Reliability:

There is no pin-for-pin replacement for

the EM2420-RT transceiver. The recommended EM351 and EM357 parts integrate the MCU

and transceiver into a single IC and is a change in form, fit and function. There is no

change to Quality or Reliability.
