Flash Program Memory

TheProgramMemoryisthelocationwheretheusercodeorprogramisstored.Forthisdevicethe

ProgramMemoryisFlashtype,whichmeansitcanbeprogrammedandre-programmedalarge

numberoftimes,allowingtheusertheconvenienceofcodemodificationonthesamedevice.

Byusingtheappropriateprogrammingtools,thisFlashdeviceoffersuserstheflexibilityto

convenientlydebuganddeveloptheirapplicationswhilealsoofferingameansoffieldprogramming

andupdating.

Structure

TheProgramMemoryhasacapacityof4K×16bits.TheProgramMemoryisaddressedbythe

ProgramCounterandalsocontainsdata,tableinformationandinterruptentries.Tabledata,which

canbesetupinanylocationwithintheProgramMemory,isaddressedbyaseparatetablepointer

Special Vectors

WithintheProgramMemory,certainlocationsarereservedfortheresetandinterrupts.Thelocation

000Hisreservedforusebythedeviceresetforprograminitialisation.Afteradeviceresetis

initiated,theprogramwilljumptothislocationandbeginexecution.

Look-up Table

AnylocationwithintheProgramMemorycanbedefinedasalook-uptablewhereprogrammerscan

storefixeddata.Tousethelook-uptable,thetablepointermustfirstbesetupbyplacingtheaddress

ofthelookupdatatoberetrievedinthetablepointerregister,TBLPandTBHP.Theseregisters

definethetotaladdressofthelook-uptable.

Aftersettingupthetablepointer,thetabledatacanberetrievedfromtheProgramMemoryusingthe

correspondingtablereadinstructionsuchas“TABRD[m]”or“TABRDL[m]”respectivelywhen

thememory[m]islocatedinsector0.Ifthememory[m]islocatedinothersectors,thedatacanbe

retrievedfromtheprogrammemoryusingthecorrespondingextendedtablereadinstructionsuchas

“LTABRD[m]”or“LTABRDL[m]”respectively.Whentheinstructionisexecuted,thelowerorder

tablebytefromtheProgramMemorywillbetransferredtotheuserdefinedDataMemoryregister[m]

asspecifiedintheinstruction.ThehigherordertabledatabytefromtheProgramMemorywillbe

transferredtotheTBLHspecialregister.
