11 / 70 page ![]() 2021 Microchip Technology Inc. DS20006532A-page 11 EMC2301/2/3/5 3.0 PIN DESCRIPTIONS Descriptions of the pins are listed in Table 3-1. The pin types are described in Table 3-2. The pin types are described in detail in Table 3-2. 3.1 Pin Configurations The EMC2301/2/3/5 family has four (4) variants that include features unique to each device. Refer to Table 3-1 to determine applicability of the pin descriptions. 3.1.1 SMDATA - SMBUS DATA This is the open drain, bidirectional data pin for SMBus communication. Requires external pull-up resistor. 3.1.2 SMCLK - SMBUS CLOCK This is the input clock pin for SMBus communication. Requires external pull-up resistor. 3.1.3 VDD - POWER SUPPLY This pin is the input power supply for the device. 3.1.4 ADDR_SEL - ADDRESS SELECT Available only on the EMC2303 and EMC2305, this pin allows user programmability of the SMBus address. Requires external pull-up resistor. DI Digital Input: this pin is used as a digital input. This pin is 5V tolerant. DO Push/Pull Digital Output: this pin is used as a digital output. It can both source and sink current. DIOD Digital Input/Open Drain Output: this pin is used as a digital I/O. When it is used as an output, it is open drain and requires a pull-up resistor. This pin is 5V tolerant. OD Open Drain Digital Output - this pin is used as a digital output. It is open drain and requires a pull-up resistor. This pin is 5V tolerant. AIO Analog input/output. This pin is used for analog signals. |
