Labeling Software

Section 10.1 States

The size, color, and contrast of all labels should be selected to ensure that the identifiers are easily read.

Labels should be visible during the installation and normal maintenance of the infrastructure. Labels

should be resistant to the environmental conditions at the point of installation (such as moisture, heat, or

ultraviolet light), and should have a design life equal to or greater than that of the labeled component.

Section 10.2 States

To maximize legibility, all labels shall be printed or generated by a mechanical device.

Laser/Ink jet and Thermal Transfer printers mechanically generate labels made of durable

polymer construction that will withstand the effects of moisture, heat and time.
