124 / 126 page  Application family identifier (AFI) (informative) M24LR64-R 124/126 Doc ID 15170 Rev 8 Appendix C Application family identifier (AFI) (informative) The AFI (application family identifier) represents the type of application targeted by the VCD and is used to extract from all the M24LR64-R present only the M24LR64-R meeting the required application criteria. It is programmed by the M24LR64-R issuer (the purchaser of the M24LR64-R). Once locked, it cannot be modified. The most significant nibble of the AFI is used to code one specific or all application families, as defined in Table 113. The least significant nibble of the AFI is used to code one specific or all application subfamilies. Subfamily codes different from 0 are proprietary. Table 113. AFI coding(1) 1.
