45 / 62 page ![]() 1 43 1.2 Fibre Cabling 1.2.4 Volition™ Installation Indoor Cable 50/125µm, 62,5/125µm, 9/125µm Description Indoor, horizontal and backbone cable All 50/125 VolitionTM multimode indoor cables are in accordance with the latest OM2 specifications as described in ISO 11801. Their bandwidth x length product is 500 MHz x km at 850nm and 800 MHz x km at 1300nm. Selected types are also available with OM3 rated fibre with a bandwidth x length product of 1500/500 MHz x km (OFL) and 2000/500 MHz x km (effective LASER launch) at 850/1300nm wavelengths. These features make Volition OM2 fibre cable the perfect medium for Gigabit-Ethernet (1000 Base-SX and 1000 Base-LX) appli- cations. Cables with OM3 fibre are optimized for applications in the first optical window and are therefore ideal for 10 Gigabit/s transmission links. Distances of up to 550 m at Gigabit Ethernet speeds (1000 Base-SX) and up to 300 m at 10 Gigabit/s (10G Base-SX) can easily be achieved.
