5.2.1
Driving current management
The gate driver turns on the respective MOSFET by sourcing the programmed current IGATE,on for a time equal to
the programmed tcc,on time. After this time, the MOSFET’s gate should be completely charged, so the driver
reduces the source current to a holding value Ihold,on.
The gate driver turns off the respective MOSFET by sinking the programmed current IGATE,off for a time equal to
the programmed tcc,off time. After this time, the MOSFET’s gate should be completely discharged, so the driver
reduces the sink current to a holding value Ihold,off.
To avoid induced turn-on effects, during the turn-on phase of a MOSFET (that is, when a driver is forcing IGATE,on)
the complementary driver sinks the maximum available current Iclamp for the entire tcc,on duration.
Note that the current capability is the maximum current that the driver is able to source/sink: when the gate of the
external MOSFET is completely charged/discharged the driver is no longer able to source/sink current.
The current levels can be summarized as below:
The value of the source current and the sink current is set by the analog voltage on IGATE input (see
Table 9).
The Ihold,on current is 25 mA typical value.
The Ihold,off current is 50 mA typical value.
The Iclamp current is 2140 mA typical value.

The turn-on and turn-off timings (respectively tcc,on and a tcc,off) are set by the voltage on TCC input (see
Table 10).
Moreover, the input mode and the deglitch filter time of the VDS monitoring protection (tdg(VDS)) are adjusted
according to the configuration of the TCC (see Section 5.2.3).
