Application Information The following recommended components are examples selected from requirements of a typical application. 6.1 Capacitor Selection Ceramic capacitors are used as bypass capacitors at all VDD and output rails. When selecting a capacitor, especially for types with high capacitance at smallest physical dimension, the DC bias characteristic has to be taken into account. Table 15. The Imax is defined by the maximum power dissipation and is applied to the effective current. ▪ DC resistance: critical for the converter efficiency and should therefore be minimized. ▪ The typical recommended output inductance is 0.22 µH per phase. Use of larger output inductance degrades the load transient performance of the buck converter. Table 16.
