APPLICATIONS INFORMATION

DRIVING RGB VIDEO OVER CAT-5 CABLE

The AD8141 and AD8142 are devices whose foremost application

is driving RGB and component video signals over unshielded

twisted pair (UTP) cable in video distribution networks. Single-

ended video signals are easily converted to differential signals

for transmission over the cable, and the internally fixed gain of 2

automatically compensates for the losses incurred by the source

and load terminations. Figure 42 shows the AD8141/AD8142 in

a triple, single-ended-to-differential application when driven from

a 75 Ω video source.
