98 / 100 page  Application family identifier (AFI) LRIS64K 98/100 Doc ID 15336 Rev 11 Appendix C Application family identifier (AFI) The AFI (application family identifier) represents the type of application targeted by the VCD and is used to extract from all the LRIS64K present only the LRIS64K meeting the required application criteria. It is programmed by the LRIS64K issuer (the purchaser of the LRIS64K). Once locked, it cannot be modified. The most significant nibble of the AFI is used to code one specific or all application families, as defined in Table 99. The least significant nibble of the AFI is used to code one specific or all application subfamilies. Subfamily codes different from 0 are proprietary. Table 99. AFI coding(1) 1.
