TM Clock Source

TheclocksourcewhichdrivesthemaincounterineachTMcanoriginatefromvarioussources.

TheselectionoftherequiredclocksourceisimplementedusingthexTnCK2~xTnCK0bitsinthe

xTMncontrolregisters,where"x"standsforSorPtypeTMand"n"standsforthespecificTM

serialnumber.TheclocksourcecanbearatioofthesystemclockfSYSortheinternalhighclockfH,

thefSUBclocksourceortheexternalxTCKnpin.ThexTCKnpinclocksourceisusedtoallowan

externalsignaltodrivetheTMasanexternalclocksourceorforeventcounting.

TM Interrupts

TheStandardandPeriodictypeTMseachhavetwointernalinterrupts,oneforeachoftheinternal

comparatorAorcomparatorP,whichgenerateaTMinterruptwhenacomparematchcondition

occurs.WhenaTMinterruptisgenerateditcanbeusedtoclearthecounterandalsotochangethe

stateoftheTMoutputpin.

TM External Pins

EachoftheTMs,irrespectiveofwhattype,hasoneortwoTMinputpins,withthelabelxTCKnand

xTPnIrespectively.ThexTMninputpin,xTCKn,isessentiallyaclocksourceforthexTMnandis

selectedusingthexTnCK2~xTnCK0bitsinthexTMnC0register.ThisexternalTMinputpinallows

anexternalclocksourcetodrivetheinternalTM.ThexTCKninputpincanbechosentohaveeither

arisingorfallingactiveedge.ThexTCKnpinisalsousedastheexternaltriggerinputpininsingle

pulseoutputmode.

TheotherxTMninputpin,xTPnI,isthecaptureinputwhoseactiveedgecanbearisingedge,a

fallingedgeorbothrisingandfallingedgesandtheactiveedgetransitiontypeisselectedusingthe

xTnIO1~xTnIO0bitsinthexTMnC1register.Thereisanothercaptureinput,PTCKn,forPTMn

captureinputmode,whichcanbeusedastheexternaltriggerinputsource.

TheTMseachhaveoneoutputpinwiththelabelxTPn.TheTMoutputpinscanbeselectedusing

thecorrespondingpin-sharedfunctionselectionbitsdescribedinthePin-sharedFunctionsection.

WhentheTMisintheCompareMatchOutputMode,thesepinscanbecontrolledbytheTMto

switchtoahighorlowlevelortotogglewhenacomparematchsituationoccurs.TheexternalxTPn

outputpinisalsothepinwheretheTMgeneratesthePWMoutputwaveform.AstheTMoutput

pinsarepin-sharedwithotherfunctions,theTMoutputfunctionmustfirstbesetupusingrelevant

pin-sharedfunctionselectionregister.
