Thisprovidesmanufacturerswiththepossibilityofmanufacturingtheircircuitboardscompletewith

aprogrammedorun-programmedmicrocontroller,andthenprogrammingorupgradingtheprogram

atalaterstage.Thisenablesproductmanufacturerstoeasilykeeptheirmanufacturedproducts

suppliedwiththelatestprogramreleaseswithoutremovalandre-insertionofthesedevices.

4-wireinterface.Dataisdownloadedanduploadedseriallyonasinglepinwithanadditionallinefor

theclock.Twoadditionallinesarerequiredforthepowersupply.Thetechnicaldetailsregardingthe

in-circuitprogrammingofthesedevicesarebeyondthescopeofthisdocumentandwillbesupplied

insupplementaryliterature.

Duringtheprogrammingprocess,theusermusttakecareoftheICPDAandICPCKpinsfordata

andclockprogrammingpurposestoensurethatnootheroutputsareconnectedtothesetwopins.
