Conclusion

There is no single optimal way of configuring the UART communication interface with

respect to lowest possible power consumption.

Depending on the application and the operational constraints, a lot of parameters have to be

taken into account, the general guidelines can be summarized as follows:

•

use lower frequencies;

•

use lower voltages;

•

keep the MCU as much as possible in low power mode.

Optimized software is also crucial part of the whole low power solution.
