21 / 97 page ![]() Data Sheet ADBMS2950B Rev. 0 | Page 21 of 97 Timing Figure 4 shows the isoSPI timing diagram for a read command to daisy-chained ADBMS devices. The bottom device and the corresponding Port A is configured as an SPI port (CSB, SCK, SDI, and SDO). The isoSPI signals of three stacked devices are shown labeled with the port (Port A or Port B) and the device number. Note that ISO B1 and ISO A2 are the same signal but are shown on each end of the transmission cable that connects Device 1 and Device 2. Similarly, ISO B2 and ISO A3 are the same signal, but with the cable delay shown between Device 2 and Device 3. Bit WN to Bit W0 refer to the 16-bit command code and the 16- bit PEC of a read command. At the end of Bit W0, the three devices decode the read command and begin shifting out valid data on the next rising edge of clock SCK. Bit XN to Bit X0 refer to the data shifted out by Device 1. Bit YN to Bit Y0 refer to the data shifted out by Device 2, and Bit ZN to Bit Z0 refer to the data shifted out by Device 3. All data is readback from the SDO port on Device 1 in a daisy-chained fashion. SPI and isoSPI Interface Topologies Figure 19 to Figure 22 give an overview of all possible SPI and isoSPI interface configurations using ADBMS2950B and optionally the cell monitor ADBMS6830B. The ADBMS2950B is not supporting the low-power cell monitoring (LPCM) feature of the ADBMS6830B devices. Systems requiring these features must implement either a dedicated daisy-chain with ADBMS6830B devices only, or the mixed daisy-chain according to Figure 22, which allows LPCM operation through the lower ADBMS6822 channel, indicated by the INTR line and the LPCM/normal operation (norm. op) label on the related isoSPI link.
