Invert On CHOP

The AD4050/AD4056 also include a bit field called IN-

VERT_ON_CHOP that can be enabled to use the CHOP signal

as an ADC sample inversion controller.

Table 15 shows the logic table for sample inversion control based

on the status of the INVERT_ON_CHOP setting and the CHOP

signal state. When INVERT_ON_CHOP is enabled, the ADC inverts

its transfer function in step with the CHOP signal. This allows the

AD4050/AD4056 to function as the auto-zero demodulation stage if

the chopper amplifier does not include it.

When the CHOP signal is enabled, the state of the IN-

VERT_ON_CHOP field determines whether or not the ADC sam-

ples are inverted. However, when the CHOP signal is disabled,

INVERT_ON_CHOP is considered "don't care" because the CHOP

signal is always assumed to be low.

The INVERT_ON_CHOP function can be enabled or disabled by

configuring the bit associated with it as low or high, as described in

Table 41.
