Either analog or digital inputs can be selected by the level on the EXADSEL pin. With the 24-bit RGB port enabled, incoming pixels may be derived directly from an external digital RGB source or from analog RGB via triple 8-bit A/D converters. 5.1.5 Built In Pattern Generator BIPGEN in the CRE register selects one of several test patterns instead of the incoming video.
