M — Negation. One’s complement (invert each bit of M)

Example: A : B means the 16-bit value formed by concatenat-

ing 8-bit accumulator A with 8-bit accumulator B.

A is in the high-order position.

⇒ M means the content of accumulator A is

transferred to memory location M.
