Additional Overview for H8S/2169

The H8S/2169 has fifteen I/O ports (ports 1 to 6, 8, 9, A to G), and one input-only port (port 7).

Table 8.26 is a summary of the additional port functions. As the functions of ports 1 to 9, A, and

B are the same on the H8S/2149, table 8.1 provides a summary.

Each extra port includes a data direction register (DDR) that controls input/output, and data

registers (ODR) for storing output data.

Ports C to G have a built-in MOS input pull-up function. On ports C to G, whether the MOS input

pull-up is on or off is controlled by the corresponding DDR and ODR.

Ports C to G can drive a single-TTL load and 30-pF-capacitive load. All I/O port pins are capable

of driving a Darlington transistor when they are in output mode.

Input and output on ports E, F, and G are powered by VCCB, which is independent of the V

power supply. So, when the VCCB voltage is 5 V, the pins on ports E to G can be 5-V tolerant.
