360 / 368 page  Pulse width modulators (PWM) RM0319 360/368 Doc ID 022640 Rev 3 38 Pulse width modulators (PWM) This chapter focuses on PWM functionality and operation. For technical details about the programmable registers related to the PWM, refer to the PWM registers in the following companion document: ● RM0321: SPEAr320S address map and registers 38.1 Overview The PWM is a pulse-width modulation (PWM) timer module with four independent channels (PWM1, PWM2, PWM3, and PWM4). All four channels are functionally identical. Using a 16-bit counter, each PWM channel generates a rectangular output pulse with programmable duty factor (0 to 100%) and frequency. 38.2 Main features ● Four independent PWM channels ● Prescaler (see Control_Reg_x register) to define the input clock frequency to each timer. ● Programmable duty factor from 0 to 100% ( through Duty_Reg_x register) ● Programmable pulse frequency (through Period_Reg_x register) ● APB slave interface for programming register ● APB clock (PCLK ~ 83 MHz) as the source clock for prescaler |
