263 / 402 page  PS024604-1005 P R E L I M I N A R Y Architecture Z8FMC16100 Series Flash MCU Product Specification 241 On-Chip Debugger The Z8FMC16100 Series Flash MCU device includes an integrated On-Chip Debugger (OCD) that provides advanced debugging features, including: • Reading and writing of the Register File • Reading and writing of program and data memory • Setting of break points • Execution of eZ8 CPU instructions Architecture The On-Chip Debugger consists of four primary functional blocks: Transmitter, Receiver, Autobaud Generator, and Debug Controller. Figure 41 illustrates the architecture of the On-Chip Debugger. OCD Interface The On-Chip Debugger (OCD) uses the DBG pin for communication with an external host.
