Note 14-2 The GPIO Data Registers are located at the offset shown from the RUNTIME REGISTERS BLOCK address. 14.3 GPIO Control Each GPIO port has an 8-bit control register that controls the behavior of the pin. These registers are defined in the Configuration section of this specification. Each GPIO port may be configured as either an input or an output. If the pin is configured as an output, it can be pro- grammed as open-drain or push-pull. Inputs and outputs can be configured as non-inverting or inverting. GPIO Direction Registers determine the port direction, GPIO Polarity Registers determine the signal polarity, and GPIO Output Type Register determines the output driver type select. The GPIO Output Type Register applies all GPIOs. The GPIO Direc- tion, Polarity and Output Type Registers control the GPIO pin when the pin is configured for the GPIO function and when the pin is configured for the alternate function for all pins. The basic GPIO configuration options are summarized in Table 14-3. In addition, each GPIO pin has a programmable weak pull-up (45 A) to VCC. The Pull-up control is independent of GPIO direction, buffer type, and Alternate Function selection. Each GPIO pin has a bit in a GPIO PULLUP Register, which enables the pin’s pull-up.
